About Varner Watch DOGS Program
At Varner Elementary, our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program is a vital part of our school community. This nationally recognized initiative invites fathers, father figures, and positive male role models to volunteer at least one full day during the school year to serve as mentors and support systems for our students and staff.When Watch D.O.G.S. are present, students notice, and they rise to the occasion. These volunteers provide positive male role models, help reduce disciplinary issues, and promote a stronger sense of community. Simply put, when our Watch D.O.G.S. show up, kids feel seen, supported, and inspired.

For 11 years, Varner Watch D.O.G.S. has been making a difference by bringing positive male role models into our school. During the 2025–2026 school year alone, our program welcomed more than 600 dad visits, creating countless moments of encouragement, support, and connection for our students.As we begin another exciting year, we're asking for your support to help keep this program going strong.
